This is a pin for Governor Charles N. Herreid of South Dakota. Herreid moved to South Dakota in 1888, and was elected governor in 1900. His term was from 1901 - 1905.
On the front of the pin if is a profile on Charles N. Herreid's face with the words "For Governor, Chas. N Herreid" around the top. The picture is in black and white on a cream colored background. This pin is a campaign pin for Herreid while he was running for office.
On the back of the pin it says "Whitehead and Hoag Co, Newark, NJ, patented July 17, 1894 April 14, 1896 and July 21, 1896.
