This bill was in production from 1976-1994 when it was replaced by coins of the same denomination. The portrait on the front is of Botswana's 2nd President, Quett Masire. The bird in the center is a hoopoe, a bird found in Botswana. The National Coat of Arms is depicted in the upper right. The back side features an illustration of of women thatching a hut and weaving baskets, which is a traditional activity in Botswana.
