The illustration is of the traditional medical practice of Rain Making. This this practice was a sacred skill that allowed the Batswana people to find comfort in the arid desert conditions. The rainmaker would orderw the chief to go and ask his people to dance. The chief obeys the traditional rainmaker’s instructions and heads to the village, where the dancing continues. This practice was thought to convince the gods to send rain. Keeme Mosinyi is the artist who created this design. This stamp cost 35 thebe.
