This button was given out by the Tri-County Vietnam Veterans of Albany, New York. It recognizes projects related to the Vietnam War. It is intended to be in honor of the 50th anniversary of the war, but the organization recognizes that the dates of the war can be subjective. Medals of this nature can be used for Vietnam veterans to identify other "brothers," as veterans of other wars often discriminate agains Vietnam vets. These pins are distributed at meetings and attendees can give them to other veterans who could not attend.
