One of eight woven baskets and basket trays; Made by a child in a missionary boarding school in Bie, Angola where the donor's aunt (Evelyn Hunter) was a missionary.

These African baskets were donated to the Boston Children's Museum in 1975 by Mrs. Fredrick Marz, who was the niece of Evelyn Hunter who was a missionary in Bie, Angola on the West Coast of Africa. These were made around 1925 by the children of the boarding school in Bie, Angola, Africa.

In 2016 the Boston Children's Museum gifted the object to the Luther College Ethnographic Collection.

Palm woven basket made by missionary children in Bie, Angola. They are shallow in depth with orange and purple-dyed patterns throughout the entire basket.
