Description:
This pandau was handmade in the early 1980s. It features a house motif in four places and repeats parts of it again in more places. This is representative of unity in the traditional Hmong culture. It also displays a quarter rickrack or step reverse applique motif design. The pink and blue satin stitched triangles represent seeds as well as the tiny white running stitches on the green fabric do. On the outer border there are some flower motifs on white square blocks that are appliqued onto the blue border fabric. Opposite of those on yellow, there are decorative blue and white stitches in X or star formations.
