Description:
Spoon carved from a single piece of wood, with a naturally-rough finish. This style of Seminole spoon is known as a Sofkee Spoon. Sofkee spoons were used as ladles for sofkee. Sofkee is a corn mixture that can be served like a hot porridge or a cool drink. In Seminole camps, it was almost always hung over the fire so people could come grab something to eat at any time.
