Provenance of Object:
This object was held in the museum that Luther College started in 1877. This museum eventually grew into the Vesterheim Norwegian-American Museum, and following this, non-Norwegian American ethnographic objects were returned to Luther and accessioned into the college’s Anthropology Collection. Without additional documentation, was likely obtained by the Luther College Museum (later the Norwegian-American Museum) between the late 19th century and early 20th century. The bag is estimated to be from the late-19th or early-20th Century, between 1890 and 1920.

Description:
A large bandolier bag with wide strap lined with red cotton. The front is velvet with brown cloth lining. The beading panels feature spot-stitch technique with 5 flowers and 3 red fruit/berries with leaves, made of clear, white, pink, red beads. The shoulder strap is constructed of 2 separate panels of beads sewn together and edged with the brown material, with green leaves with flowers on one side and red fruit/berries on the other.
